WHO WE ARE
After a devastating 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal in 2015, thousands of children were at risk of never returning to school. Forced to become laborers or victims of child marriage, many faced deprivation as their families fell into poverty. As the community struggled to rebuild, residents began to describe their school as a “mountain”: something distant, perilous, and out of reach.
Calls Over Ridges is an international organization founded on the mission to give education a new meaning and bring children back to school. Today, we operate not only in Nepal but have extended our reach across South and Southeast Asia. With teams established in Nepal, Malaysia, and the Philippines, Calls Over Ridges harnesses on-the-ground talents and perspectives to transform the educational landscape with an “exit” plan in mind.
At present, we have served more than 8,500 students in 4 countries. However, until quality education is accessible everywhere, our ambition will continue to guide children over institutional barriers towards life-changing opportunities.
